The journalists will point out history in the making, and the pundits will analyze the punch count that John McCain has to answer next week in the Twin Cities. But I believe we’ve just seen Barack Obama, give an astounding speech that amounts to be what will be the one of the toughest acts to follow in politics.

There, on the stage at the 50-yard line of Mile High Stadium, Obama took another pass through his talking points and underscored them with a respectful though indelible challenge to John McCain to get in the ring.As entertaining as it is to watch the two competing senators duke it out, what’s more important is this chance for the United States to rally behind the leadership of a man bent on doing what’s right for the future of the nation.
