The Legacy of Lance Armstrong.

July 13th, 2010 — 8:10am
This past Sunday, watching Lance Armstrong “pedal squares” up a mountainside in France, viewers experienced nearly as much excruciating pain and disappointment as the Texan himself. Torn, bloodied, and spent, Armstrong’s last stand left millions of fans in a state of disbelief. With nearly two weeks of the tour still ahead, the great comeback of Lance Armstrong simply wasn’t going to happen.

And yet, I think about how ESPN’s Jim Caple so aptly summarizes it in his recent article–that Lance’s legacy isn’t an unclaimed 8th victory in Paris, but that he was able to put so many of us back on the bike. Myself included.

Thanks for that, Lance. Thank you.
