Today, we had the students from The Laborer’s Institute over for lunch and afterwards we went bowling. What a great time. And don’t I look STUNNING in this picture as I’m about to roll a strike. In actuality, I likely was about to lob a gutter-grenade in this attempt.

I hurled one gutter ball hard enough today that I got it to bounce off the back of the lane, and come back and knock 4 or 5 pins over! Really.

Kim and I had SUCH a great time with the students and interns today. It’s a BLESSING to be a part of their process out here at KBM, and one I anticipated a bit, but am enjoying them that much more.

Beats the heck outta dealing with crashed harddrives and other technical stuff I’ve had to deal with lately. It’s ALL about relationships here at KBM, and The Laborer’s Institute puts that in sharp focus, I’m learning. Not just for the students, but for us staff members who get to be connected with them while they’re here.

You can check in more on what they’re process has been like at the TLI eJournal Amy has done a great job documenting the journey and keeping a dedicated flickr album of pictures.

They leave in ONE WEEK to spend a month in short term missions in Brazil. It’ll be exciting to hear what God does in their hearts and in the lives of those they touch in South America.

Pause and pray for them right now, If I may ask. Just a fast but sincere request for God’s blessing, and His guidance on these fantastic young adults who’ve worked so hard to get here, to learn and to commit to service, all for the sake of the good news of Jesus.

Great stuff!

At The Walnut Room.

Last weekend, we had the rockin’ surprise of getting to see Kim’s cousin Justin Benner play drums for the artist “Plumb”. Justin is about as cool as they come. He is INCREDIBLY talented and a JOY to watch in performance. Plus, he’s a MASTER of karoake, from what I hear, and knows how to win a crowd even singing Clarence Carter’s ” Strokin’ ”

They played at the Walnut Room in Downtown Denver, CO, and MAN, it was a KILLA show. I had a latent need to ROCK OUT, and with Justin bringin’ his A-Game and layin’ down the groove, my needs were sufficiently met!

I’m now a Plumb fan and encourage you to do likewise. It’s good for the heart!

Apparently My Site is Boring.

June 15th, 2006 — 8:10am

Our dearly talented brother, Josh Brunet evidently needed me to drag him into the spotlight this morning, because he left such a disruptive comment recently, “Your site is boring…you don’t talk to us anymore.”

And for that I am truly sorry.

The short of it?

That’s hopefully about to change now that I have internet at home and we’re settling into our roles at KBM in Colorado.

The long of it? I haven’t the brain cells or the calories to spare in order to type an explanation. Or an excuse. And I’d gather that no reader would have the stamina or oppressive ennui in his own life to necessitate such masochistic behavior as to read the drama I would implicate as my culpable rationale for jilting the faithful followers and subscribers of EricNentrup.com.

Put that in your Wordly Wise pipe and toke it up.

But Josh’s words have been heard and I’ll try to reciprocate. In fact, my gut needs it. I was thinking this morning about my need to write. And what I have to share.

I see your queen Josh. Let me get out the cardstock and markers and in JUST A LITTLE BIT, I’ll toss a king on the table.

I was hanging out with The Laborer’s Institute Interns, Amy, Michelle, and Dimity. They’re here to serve the entire TLI class for the duration of the summer as students come for an intense season of discipleship and mission. Great stuff!
